SUPPORTERS OF THE LIGHTHOUSE FOR THE BLIND OF GREECE

National Historical Museum

The National Historical Museum enriched the collection of Modern History of the Tactual Museum with the donation of the busts of the heroes of the Revolution of 1821 Theodoros Kolokotronis and Nikitaras, as well as the funeral cast of Georgios Karaiskakis, creations of the sculptor Andreas Kalakalas.

The Rotary Club of Pendeli

The Rotary Club of Pendeli supports the Zumba Educational Dance Department of the Lighthouse for the Blind of Greece, for 2024

Ladies Philoptochos Society Elpis

The Ladies Philoptochos Society Elpis have been supporting through their kind donations during the years the worthy causes of the Lighthouse for the Blind of Greece.

American Women’s Organization of Greece

The American Women’s Organization of Greece supported through kind donations:

  • The production of Homer’s Epics, Iliad and Odyssey in Braille, for the enrichment of the Historical Braille lending Library in 2021
  • The operation of the Knitting and Macrame departments of the association for 2018 & 2019.

Hellenic Federation of Friends of Museums

The Hellenic Federation of Friends of Museums awarded the Tactual Museum in 2004 for its innovative actions related to accessibility matters of visually impaired people and kinetic problems.

Friends of Acropolis Society

The Friends of Acropolis Society has been supporting the operational qualification of the Tactual Museum of the Lighthouse for the Blind of Greece throughout the years, through kind donations, technical assistance, but also its enrichment with specialized material in terms of sculpture mockup of monuments of the Acropolis.

Dorett Karaiosifoglou

Thanks to her kind donation, an Impacto Printer was bought so as to cover the relevant needs of the Special Braille Printing Department.

Hellas Lions Club of South Greek Islands

The bust of Homer, Roman copy from the Museum of Piraeus, as well as a cast of a pigeon, were kindly donated by the Lions Club HELLAS of South Greek Islands to enrich the Museum’s collections.

Arttogether – Art of people with and without disabilities

Thanks to a significant donation from Art Together in 2019, 10 new exhibits were added to the Museum’s collections.

Non-profit Organization ZOODOHOS PIGI

The non-profit organization ZOODOHOS PIGI supported through kind donation in 2020 the Computer Courses and New Technologies Department for blind people.

World in Harmony

World in Harmony supported through kind donations in 2015 the Braille Printing Department and The Workshops (Metal Processing Unit & Cleaning Materials) of the Lighthouse for the Blind of Greece.
